When you are not updating a weightloss blog on a regular basis folks tend to feel that you have either lost interest, or you have fallen off of the wagon.
No that way it is, here folks.
So where the hell have I been? Arizona! I went and spent a few days with my Eldest Daughter, and her boyfriend. Out of the snow, and cold of Pennsylvania, and into the sunshine, and warmth of Arizona.
And I didn’t gain any weight. Didn’t lose any, but still didn’t gain any. I like that.
This morning I was sitting on the couch trying to prioritize my day when I got a phone call from MLW. She had forgotten something at home and asked me to deliver it to her. I agreed, because I love my wife and I am just that kind of helpful guy when I know that it will get me some good husband points. I am all about the points.
Regardless, on my way to her school I started thinking about if I wanted to stop for something to eat. You know, poison, fast food. I pass a Mac’s, a Burger King, and a gas station where they make breakfast sandwiches. So there I am driving down the road, thinking of grease and bacon and eggs, my mouth is watering, and I hear this little voice way, way back in my head. I can barely hear it. It is saying something like, “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING YOU IDIOT???”
It is always wondderful to have your inner voice treat you with such respect. But it took that voice to stop me from doing something stupid with my eating this morning. I wrote about talking to yourself awhile back, and today it kept me in line. Being aware of what you are doing is the most important part of learning to eat like a normal person.
Lets repeat that for emphasis. Being aware of what you are doing, and why is the most important part of learning to eat like a normal person. You don’t have to not eat things. You can eat anything you want. But you have to not eat massive amounts, and you need to be aware of what is going on while you are eating.
There. You have the secret again.
You are welcome.
Namaste.
